Policies
Appointment Times and Cancellations - We schedule appointments on the hour from 8AM-2PM and ask for 3-4 hours from the scheduled appointment time to complete the appointment. We ask that you please be on time for your appointment. Any client that arrives over 15 minutes past their appointment will be considered a strike. If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, we ask that you please call by 4PM the day prior to your appointment so that we may fill the appointment time. If you cancel your appointment after the 4pm cut off it will be considered as a strike. We have a three-strike policy regarding appointments. The 1st strike is an allowance as we do understand things happen. 2nd strike we will charge 50% of the groom price that will be due at the following appointment. 3rd strike we will no longer be able to schedule any appointments for you in the future. If you no show your first appointment, we will not be able to schedule any appointments for you in the future.
Vaccination Policy - We require all pets to have the state mandated rabies vaccination by 6 months of age and will need to see proof of current vaccination papers unless we have vet verification that your pet is not able to be vaccinated. As this vaccine expires after a period of time, we will ask that these be updated and we will periodically ask for updated verification. We may refuse grooming for any rabies vaccination that is over 30 days expired. We do not require any other vaccinations but highly recommend your pet is up to date on all vaccinations.
Potty Policy - Please make your best effort to potty your pets before your appointment. We also suggest, when possible, not to feed 2-3 hours prior to appointment or give excess treats or scraps. While we understand accidents happen, it is much more difficult to clean up an accident in the kennels, especially if we have already started the grooming process. We may charge a clean-up fee for excessive accidents in the salon as this takes extra time to clean the space as well as keeping the pet as clean as possible.
Dogs in Heat – While we can groom dogs in heat, we generally suggest grooming toward the beginning or end of the bleeding cycle or until bleeding is completely done. If they are in heat while being groomed, we try to keep them as clean as possible but cannot guarantee how clean they will be at pickup. We may also charge an extra fee depending upon the severity of the bleeding as this takes extra time to clean our spaces as well as the dog.
Flea & Tick Policy - If your pet has fleas and/or an extensive number of ticks we will do a flea/tick treatment at the expense of $8 added to your groom. This usually kills fleas/ticks currently on them but we suggest following up with a preventative as well as treatment of the home to prevent reinfestation.
Matted Pets - Here at All Fur Paws we believe in humanity before vanity. While we strive give each pet their owner's preferred haircut, sometimes due to matting we are unable to do so. We are sometimes able to brush out small amounts of matting (at an additional fee), but in certain situations de-matting does more harm than good to the dog and therefore we have no other option than to start over with a very short shave. Depending upon the severity of the matting there also may be an additional charge even to shave due to extra time taken to carefully shave out matting. We will make every attempt to let you know, either upon check-in or by phone, if we must de-mat/shave your pup. If we are unable to contact you in a timely manner, we will proceed with whatever course of action we feel is necessary which may include extra de-matting fees.
Sedatives and Calming Aids- We are unable to groom pets that are under vet prescribed sedatives without prior authorization of an owner/manager. We feel that these pets are better served being groomed at a vet’s office where they can be monitored for any issues that may arise during the grooming process. This does not include mild calming agents such as Benadryl or CBD but we ask that you let us know if your pet is on any such medications.
Senior Pets - Our senior pups are very precious, so their health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. We take a lot of factors into consideration when we determine our grooming approach to our senior pets. In some instances, we may deem it best to provide "comfort grooming" to some of our older pets. This is a groom that we consider best for the individual dog that may include doing a short haircut all over or not doing certain services that may cause unnecessary stress. These grooms may not always look the best, but we will always do the best we can while keeping the safety of the pet as our top priority. If we ever feel like we can no longer safely groom your pup we may refer you to a vet clinic for grooming where they can be monitored for any issues that may arise during the grooming process. We do not accept any new pets over 12 years for dogs under 50lbs or 10 years for dogs 50lbs and over as we feel they are better served at a vet where they can be monitored for any issues that may arise during the grooming process.
